This is a verse often overlooked, but one very important, the foundation of the plan of God to redeem humanity. It was the hope of humanity, one the pre-flood generation look toward, and as a result of their faith entered the covenant of Christ. Abel the son of Adam was killed for obeying God, and for taking up his cross, his brother Cain was a murderer and a shadow of the role of the kingdom of the antichrist to come.
Man created in the image of God come to inherit the kingdom of God on earth. The scripture told us God gave man rule over the earth, and instructing Adam to multiply the intent of God was for us to live forever in His Kingdom prepared for us.
Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
After some time, Adam and his wife turned their backs on God, and eating from the forbidden tree experienced death. The heavenly kingdom and support was cut, and as a result death, which is a curse appeared unto humanity. For the first time in history God would now made plans to redeem humanity from his fall.
God’s word cannot fail, as a result the word and promise was given to redeem humanity. Genesis 3:15 was born, God spoke the word and in due time He would fulfill that promise through Jesus Christ. The seed of the woman came, born of a virgin, and out of his death and resurrection brought life once again to humanity.
I believe part of Genesis was written or passed down from Adam and Noah. picked up by Abraham, and passed on to Moses who put it all together along with his experience with God.
