It can be found in scripture Jesus granting his disciples power over the kingdoms of the enemy. He often told his disciples to announce that the kingdom of God has come to those whom they were sent, and responding to the message the people were to flow to Christ through the message of the kingdom, and upon hearing and accepting the message the disciples were to perform the works of the kingdom.
Jesus at the beginning of his ministry declared,” Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 7:14. it was to announce the presence of God’s Kingdom and its power to the world, and that the time has come for the world to be free. But although He was the king of heaven many stood away from him, but those who accepted his word received the benefits of the kingdom and was healed, and some being raised from the dead.
Jesus taught us how to pray, and written in one of the lines of the prayer he taught us was, ” Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. ” and being taught this prayer points to the mission we as born again Children of God are to accomplish.
However, the difficulty many of us are facing, is figuring out what the mission and will of God is, but as it is written, so are we to walk. The will of God is to fulfill the written word of God, it is to read and carry out God’s word day after day in the world in which we live. If it is written, it is the mission; therefore, if we find one who is sick, let us pray for his healing introducing him or her to Jesus, and if someone is in need, we are to fill that need as the Lord make it known to us.
Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, and what we have in our hands, and before our eyes is the word of God. In the book of Palms it is written,” Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path suggesting that the word of God is our mission and map to fulfilling God’s will. Psalms 119:105 KJV)
Knowing that Jesus is God, and that he has given us the right to act on his word, we are to perform his word knowing that no arm will come to us even when it seems that we are cast down.
We often cry to God for help asking him to show us the way, and for him to move with power in our lives, not realizing that God has already given us the right to act on his word. Jesus is waiting on us to move in faith knowing that he is with us to perform his word. If we are hungry enough to follow Jesus Christ, we will do what is asked of us. It is as simple as that.
