The love of God is upon His people to sustain them in a world filled with evil men. Though this is true, it can be disheartening at times when we see the prosperity of the wicked. We sometimes wonder when will they pay for the evil works of their hands; they rob and oppress the poor, abuse the fatherless, and take from the widow. They pass laws from which they benefit, while the poor suffer. We who walk upright in the land barely get by in life while they prosper, grow, and speak evil of God boastfully.
When we speak of the Lord they bring before us a challenge, they mock and laugh at us. We speak of the power of God and they laugh at us, but little do they know that they have already been judged. The appearance of Jesus Christ was to enforce the law of God, and to bring judgment on those rejecting God’s mercy. He came to save the humble and the obedient man from the judgment brought against the world. Jesus taught that only the meek shall inherit the earth, so while we are discourage based on the evil in the world, let us hope in the Lord who have brought us under His wings.
The world will continue to do that which is evil in the eyes of God, they will kill us thinking they are doing God a favor. We are not to be taken by surprise when they act violently against us, when they persecute us, for it was written, “Blessed are they that are persecuted for doing what is right for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus came in fulfillment of God’s word confirming the reality of God’s blessing, and now there is no need for us to fear the insults of the wicked. Soon they will be cut off from the earth according to the promise of God, so let us stand like Noah who stood for what was right in the face of temptation in his day until God delivered him and his house. Therefore, continue in the will of the Lord until He deliver us from the darkness of this world.
Although we are in an evil world being oppressed on every side, we are not cast down, for God will sustain us and hear our cries when we turn our faces toward Him. Jesus said, ” Blessed are those who are not offended in me.”
A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. (Psalms 37:1-3 KJV)
