Why do we have the word of God, was it given only for reading, or was it given so that we might obey and follow its leading. There are countless victories in the word of God, and according to the revelation of God‘s word it is the tool by which we are able to overcome the enemy. The word of God is not just for us to overcome the enemy, but also for us to change circumstances, and move mountains. Recently I came upon an issue where it seems as if God was far from me, but with prayer and the blessing of my brothers and sisters who prayed with me, I was able to overcome.

This morning my circumstances has changed, peace has been restored and I am victorious in Christ. But how do we tap into this power of prayer, we can find the answer in the word of God, the word which is living and active.

Because the word of God is a living word, it is always on the move, and capable of delivering us from all evil. life is an experience, and with the word of God we can experience victory in every moment. But how do we tap into this power? First we have to recognize that Jesus is God, and that he is the way the truth and the life. Once we come to this understanding all things will become possible.

Secondly we need to read his word knowing what is written of us, and the things we are instructed to do. Once we have the savior we know defeat is out of the question, even thou it may not seem that way at times. Secondly we need to know through the power of Christ we are able to perfume his word, and here lies the revelation.

When we read the word of God we are to act on what is written. Each day of our lives we will be tested by the measure of our faith, and after every test we will increase in faith and in the power of God. For example I went through a difficult time a few days ago, for me at that time it seem impossible, but knowing what the word of God has instructed me to do I acted.

My flesh was telling me to do one thing after another, but the word of God was in my heart. I acted on the word of God by seeking prayer, and praying over my situation. Three days later the storm went away and a window was open for me in heaven.

If the word said, “Do not steal, do not steal even thou the desire is there to steal and we will fulfill God’s word. If it said we are not to commit adultery, we are to run from the situation when it is presented. No man on earth will be without temptation, and as a result we are constantly in a battle. but once we have learned to bring the flesh under the power of the spirit, we will be able to walk in the power of God.

Psalms 121:1-2 A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth”.

The first step is to recognize that God is the final authority in heaven and earth, and that he is the only God and savior. Take notice of His abilities to redeem, create, and bring about a new thing. Once we recognize that God has the power to create change, then we will rest in his power and love, and his ability to perform what we ask of him in Christ.

Psalms 121:3-4  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Secondly know that God is never a sleep while you are going through your test, he is right at your side to bring you out safely and with power. he is not a God who will leave us when the battle gets hot, but will show forth his power and might.

Psalms 121:5-7  The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

Thirdly know that God is your keeper and will not allow the evil one to get the best of you. Our only responsibility in the time of testing, or trouble is to stand in faith in the God of our souls.

Psalms 121:8  The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Know that He will preserve us when we go out and come in, God has provided on all side his loving protection and no evil will fall on us. even in death we have overcome the enemy and judgment. Amen.
