The Israelites Leaving Egypt

Exodus 12:7-10 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

Once Israel have in possession the lamb, on the fourteenth day of the first month, which is the beginning of spring, Israel is to sacrifice the lamb and placing the blood on the post of their home. Once the ritual was complete, they are to eat the offering in one house. The blood was the covenant and the mark of their covering and protection. Once God sent out the agent of death throughout the land, he will see the blood and Passover the house and those dwelling within.

Because of His promise to Abraham, God set the nation apart unto himself; He provided for them a covering to escape the judgment, their young , their old, and animals were all set apart unto God, and soon they will leave Egypt and with great substance.

The day we came to Christ accepting him as savior and Lord, we were set apart unto God to serve His purpose. We through the death and resurrection of Christ had taken part in the ritual of the Passover. We came out of a life of sin with great substance, but not knowing this truth we often stumble back into Egypt. Like Israel moving farther away from bondage, we cry saying we should have remained in Egypt, tempting the Lord.

However, on this day the marker, and first day of Israel’s deliverance, we have the point from which we are able to determine the times, and the season of the Lord. The Passover was the first day in history, the pointer to the day of redemption in the future from which we now have a clue to the return of Christ. Every symbol, every ritual, and every sacrifice, was and is the pointer to the last days of humanity, the last days before Christ returns, and the day God judged the gods of this world.

Matthew 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
