Before leaving Egypt, the nation must enter into the covenant of redemption, and they must fist show their faith, by acting on the word of God. The blood was the symbol and agreement of the contract, and by the blood of the unblemished lamb; they confessed they have missed the mark, sinners in need of God’s mercy. James 1:22-24}

In addition, to atone their sins, the nation must present before the Lord the blood of an unblemished lamb, and based on their obedience bringing forth this precious lamb, they show that they understood the cost of their transgression and their faith.  Israel did not enter into the covenant blindly; they understood well the cost, which was the life on an innocent lamb, and a shadow of the Messiah who was to die for the sins of the world.

Because of their actions and obedience in bringing forth the most precious of their livelihood, an unblemished sheep, set apart from the rest, and a shadow of Christ, who was set apart as a sacrifice for the world, our redeemer, and king. Israel was delivered, from the powers of darkness, led out of bondage by the hand of God.

God was in love with his people, and because of the bondage and the oppressions of live; the relationship he had with his people was broken. And to restore that relationship God set in motion the day of deliverance. However, Abraham was warned that his seed would serve a strange nation, but after the end of four hundred years, God would bring them out, and judge the nation they served.

At the signal of a new King coming to the throne, and the birth of Moses the redeemer, it was time for the people of God to leave Egypt, God was about to rapture his people out of the land of bondage. God was about to come through on his promises to Abraham, his promise to Adam, and his promise to redeem the world from the powers of darkness.

Exodus 12:5-7 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
