Blessed are you when Matthew 5:3-12

wjpas00941.jpg3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

God will support those who recognize their need for Him, and their dependence on Him, honoring him only as God. You shall have no other gods before me.

4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Coming to repentance and turning away from a life of rebellion against the kingdom of God, God will provide us with rest. Recognizing Jesus is the only way to salvation and our need for forgiveness; we will turn to the Lord with all our hearts.

5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

God will support the obedient of heart, the man who hears the word of God and with his whole heart obeys. On account of his steadfastness he will inherit the earth and the eternal kingdom to come. Be you doers of the word, and not hears only deceiving yourselves.

6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Supported are those who with all their hearts pursue to do what is right, and not turning away from the law of God. On account of his pursuits he will be given power to govern the kingdom, abiding with the Lord of hosts always. Seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

7Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

God will support those who with their substance support those in need. When they see a brother or another human in need and support them, God will support him in times of need. Because he showed mercy he will be shown mercy. The kingdom of God will support his efforts upholding his hand.

8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

God will support those who with their whole heart seek peace, forgiving his brother who sinned against him. But if he stores up evil in his heart to avenge his brother, like evil Cain, he will not see God. But if he put aside evil, having no ill to commit murder, he will keep himself pure, and God will show himself unto him.

9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

God will support those who are for peace, to pursue it with all their heart. He doesn’t go out of his way to cause war without reason, nor provoke his enemies to battle. But one seeking counsel, and peace in the land, who steal not from the poor, provoking him to anger? This man will be called the son of the living God.

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The kingdom of God will support those who pursues what is right, and who works for peace regardless of the opposition they face, by those working through unrighteousness. Although he is persecuted, God will defend him, and he will have access to the kingdom of heaven, to perform the works of the God of heaven.

11“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Supported are those who are insulted for the cause of their God, and savior Jesus Christ. Who stand on his word, and are marked by His name? For God has set aside for them a great reward in heaven. They with the King to come will rule over the kingdom of men on earth and with a rod of iron. And in the great Day of the Lord to come they will be elevated to glory in the presence of their enemies.
