For many years, I have heard preached the gospel of Jesus Christ, and have seen many Christians struggling with their Christianity. I have seen and heard many walking away from Christ, and with the world looking on mocking, it came to mind that they have no knowledge of the gospel.
However, what was the problem they were facing, to have so many walking away from the truth. After years of observation and in-depth studies, I came across the answer. People were walking away from the truth they know because there was a lack of power in their lives. Sitting between the row of benches in their church, listening to the pastor’s message, “God can do all things” yet leaving without change day after day, and month after month, you begin to become discourage.
I have heard it said by many preachers today, “We do not go after signs, but stand by the word of God”. However, what did the word of God preached? “Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; and they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
This is not apart of the ever day preaching in the church today, it is as if our pastors have disarmed their members and now they are hoping against hope, living their lives without result. One minute we are told; we need to do this and that for God to bless us, but what are we to do when we have been thrown a confusing maze of teachings.
So many of our churches are divided, and the reason is as clear as God puts it,” Hosea 4:6-7 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.” The glory we are to enjoy has been turned into shame; and because of our lack of knowledge, we turn away from God.
Christ came; however, to lose the bands of evil, and to break up those folly grounds. If we will only get back to the word of God, rather than trying to create organizations in opposition to God’s rule, we would see more of God’s people being healed. However, because we are set in our own ways, we perish believing we are accomplishing great goals.
Jesus came into the world, and born of a virgin to redeem his people from sin, and from their weaknesses. He came to be the light, and the fulfilled promise of God to the world. He did not come seeking his own glory, but to declare the glory of the Father, and because of his love, he submit himself to death that he might restore us in his love.
Because of Jesus Christ, and his grand entrance into our world, we have been granted the power of salvation, that we might defeat the enemy, finding our joy and successes in him. We have a weapon by which we are able to change circumstances creating a new beginning in our lives. This we are more than capable of doing because of Jesus Christ.
“Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and
thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
