In Genesis 3:14-15 we were given a promise, that the Messiah would come, and when he does would judged the seed of the enemy. And at his appearance, death and resurrection Jesus judged the prince of the world who is Satan, and now that he has been judged, we are granted authority over the power of the prince of the air.
Currently it doesn’t seem that way, but indeed we are with power. Jesus told his disciples,” 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20)
After his death Christ brought us into his family, and now that we are a part of his family we have this authority, and power, and must now take a stand against the enemy. Remember, nothing shall by any means hurt us. Now this doesn’t mean we will not die, or face hardships, we will die and face hardship, but on account of what Christ has done we have the power.
Let us in this New Year show this authority over the enemy
30Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” 33He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.
