Christmas Blessings

s51379s1103216_2_0So far we have open the gifts, and everyone is happy with what they have received. This year my wife and I created a list from which we bought gifts for each other. It is very hard to purchase items for each other, seeing that we have all we need. What was important; however, was not the gifts we received, it was family, and  having everyone present was a blessing. Without family at your side, at Christmas time, the event would be a dull one; this is the gift we have received from a loving God, and Father.

Two things according to scripture have shown us that family is important. After creating Adam the first man, God said it was not good for him to be alone. And what God did was to have created Eve, the first start toward building a lasting relationship. After creating Eve, God blessed Adam and his wife, “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” and the family unit was born.

Were you with your family today? And if so, give God thanks for He is the giver of life, and the Father of us all, and the one who gave us the gift of family, families with whom we might celebrate this wonderful day, and event.

Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.

A part of God’s will, is for us to be with someone, that we might build families, and recognizing that he is the giver of life, and the gift of family, we are to seek him, and what he has to offer. If you do not have a family of your own, ask and he will provide. It is not good for man to be alone; therefore, God has created for us families, and has blessed the family unit.

A sign of God’s support and blessing for the family unit is children. Some of us; however, are finding it difficult to have children. But if we believe all things are possible, it will come to past. The word of God is His promise, and if we will learn to wait on him, and learn to call on him, he promise to hear from his holy mountain, and deliver us. May God bless and keep you through the rest of this year, and the New Year to come.

Genesis 2:21-25 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
