Why did Jesus come? Matt 1:21

So we preached the gospel, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. The sound of those words must have been a thing to fear in those days, when spoken by Jesus. I can but imagined how those words came across, Jesus knowing full well where He came from, was not like us who preach the gospel, having no idea what the end of a man life will be.

Jesus; however, knew the result, and the place where every individual will go. He was fully aware of the punishment to be inflected on those not accepting His offer. He came to save His people, and there must be something  bad waiting those rejecting His offer. Some say after we die there is nothing more to fear, but according to the gospels that is not true.

We are told, according to the gospels, Jesus came to save His people from their sins, meaning their short comings. And unless they repent, this little child Jesus Christ, born in a stable will judge the world, bringing about one of the most terrifying punishments to pass.

He came to save His people, from judgment, and hell. Jesus is the reason for the season, but let us not forget the urgency of the gospel, and that we are to preach this message. Not just to say God loves you, but to also ask, “are you saved?” and if not repent before it is too late.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
