There is a message creeping away in the back from us, one we have ignored for a long time. Becoming comfortable with the notion of grace, many of us do not realize the word of God is law. Rather than doing what God asked of us, we are quick to become teachers. There is a place where we are told, “Hebrews 5:12-13 “Ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.”

So many of us today are banking on a teaching of grace, which allows us to continue in sin, no one is perfect, but we need to understand God is not to be taken for granted. He is watching our every move, and motives, and will judge according to our actions. We preach often, yet we are failing to invest in righteousness. Jesus told us we are to be doers of the word, not only hearers, for if we fail to do what the word commands, we are deceiving ourselves.

James 1:22-24 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

As Christians we are empowered to live, not according to the flesh, but according to the power of the kingdom to come. And so I encourage you brothers and sisters, live. Live I say above the desires of the flesh. Shake off those weaknesses, shake off those chains, come into the light, and live.

Psalms 91:11-13 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall thou trample under feet.
