A man went out preaching the gospel, and while standing in a park speaking to a few young men, a group of men walked up; asking if he believed the Bible is the word of God. The man replied yes, every word of it. Mocking they punched him in the face, spat on him, and after falling to the ground, the man stood up on his feet, and said, “Whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Mt 5:39
After his quote, the men started beating on him once more; about seventeen young men were standing by watching the abuse. And After being beaten for the second time, he got up and lifting his hands to the heavens said. “2 Corinthians 4:8-12 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worked in us, but life in you.”
The men standing in amazement, and filled with shame, they walked away. The seventeen young men came to him and said, “We believe in the name of your Lord, Jesus Christ, and would love to ask him in our lives. What we saw has convinced us that Jesus is truly the Lord, because you not only preach the gospel, you lived it before us.” Seventeen young men gave their lives to Jesus that day because one man stood for Christ.
To be blessed is to be sustained by God, to go through the test, fulfilling His will, and to be supplied by God to accomplish His will in your life and those around you.
Matthew 5:10-11 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
