Spear to the Heart

There is no doubt, people are aware there is a need for us to be saved. Searching the world for the answers, people are running, to, and fro, trying to find a way out. Death is the silent enemy they are fighting; from those trying to hold back the times, with cosmetics goods, covering those wrinkles, to those going to the extreme restructuring their faces, trying to hide the reality.

These things people do, show they are not blind, to the reality they face. In the end we will die; ageing is a part of the process, facts we are working hard to avoid. But we don’t have to fear death, God has provided for all a path through which we are able to avoid the sting of death. Death has lost its power, over our lives, some two thousand years ago, but although this is true, countless chose to deny it.

Jesus came, and with his life he redeemed the world. The cost was one the world could not have afforded, but God through His son has provided for us a substitute. This is where the world jumps to denial. Jesus is not who they wanted, they wish for a man like themselves, one who will not hold them to certain standards, but rather allow them to do what they wish.

It is for this reason many will perish, not because they had no choice, but because light has come and they rather darkness. “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly, that what he has done has been done through God.” (John 3:19-21)
