People always seem to blame God for the evil they suffer; yet the evil we suffer was on account of our failures to walk in truth and uprightness. We seem to forget we are sinners on account of Adam’s fall, inheriting the nature of sin which resulted in our short comings. Christ came that He might deliver us from the weakness in our flesh, but once again man on account of his works will fall into the judgment of hell. It will not be on account of God’s will man falling into the flames of hell, for God out of love has sent His son to die in our place that we might have peace and rest.
“Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself and opened its mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that exults shall descend into it. A man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:” (Isaiah 5:14-15)
We see people today in great power living their lives full of wealth and rejoicing, and as we go we wish in our hearts to be just as they are. But have we truly wondered about their eternity, those we see today living apart from God rejecting His law may very well fall into the darkness without rescue on account of their rejection of Christ.
Because of the rebellion of mankind the mouth of death is open wide to receive those who glory in their sin, in their wealth, and in the things of this life from which shall come no salvation “For a man shall be brought down, the mighty man shall be humbled; and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.”
