Death is something the world fears, it is a mystery no one wishes to discover, but unfortunately we will one day have to face its reality. However, for those who do what is right honoring God through His son, this mystery is one we are eager to experience. The wicked those rejecting Christ are griped by fear concerning this adventure as there is no hope in death for their souls, the root of their fears, but the righteous those with understanding are at rest in the Lord their savior Jesus Christ.
“Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be done to him.” (Isaiah 3:11)
One of the questions we should ask ourselves before we act against each other in an evil, or deceiving manner, is “Do I want this for myself?” If the answer is no, then we should refrain from acting thus. Being a just God this is the way in which God will approach the judgment against us. He will call our actions into question, our actions will testify for us, works of wood will be consumed by fire, but those that are works of goal we will be refined unto purity.
(Proverbs 14:32) “The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.”
At the end of our lives how will we view our past? Will our conscience judge us? Will we rest in our old age living out the rest of our lives in peace? Based on the works of our hands we will reap what we have sown, it may not be today or tomorrow, but in the future through the sufferings of our children, lost of labor and life. It is good to obey God that at this time we might have joy in the shield of His provision, Salvation.
